Christmas Fantasia 2011

Christmas Fantasia 2011 this year will be held on Saturday 3rd December. The proceedings will start with the opening of the Fayre in the Ash Centre at 2:00pm. The official opening will be performed by the Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Cllr. Nigel Manning.

There will be the usual stalls, which this year will include a fabulous Tombola, run by Ash Parish Council staff, a cake stall supplied and run by Ash Parish Councillors to name but two of the many different and diverse stalls.

There will also be other activities, including a choir from Ash Grange Primary School performing a number of Christmas Songs (by kind permission of Head Teacher, Marie Curtis), taking place in the Ash Centre throughout the afternoon.

Other activities taking place just outside the Ash Centre will include "The Balloon Man" between 2.00pm and 4:00pm. also come along for a pony ride; pony power provided by Danny from the Springfield Stables, Tongham.

Starting at 4:30pm there will be Carol Singing with the Ash Ensemble, providing the music, and St. Peter's Church and St Mary's Church Choirs around the Christmas Tree on Ash Wharf. At 5.00pm Father Christmas will arrive at the Wharf, with his band of "jolly" helpers to switch on the Christmas tree lights and distribute sweets to the children gathered around the tree.

Hot chestnuts, candy floss and toffee apples will all be available from a stall outside the Ash Centre.

This year our fabulous Christmas Tree is sponsored by The Dover Garage, Ash Hill Road, Ash. The Christmas Tree Lights this year are being sponsored by Co-operative Funeral Service.

The festivities will end with everyone being invited back to the Ash Centre for mulled wine and mince pies.
