Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2025

Surrey County Council in Exercise of Its Powers Under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of Blackwater Valley Road (A331) Tongham which extends from its junction with Government Road (D47) to southwards for a distance of 750m.

Alternative route: Blackwater Valley Road (A331), Farnborough Gate, Farnborough Road (A325), Farnborough Road (A325), Hale Road (A325), Farnborough Road (A325), Shepherd & Flock (A31), Runfold Diversion (A31) and Blackwater Valley Road (A331).

This Notice is required to enable stud works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. The Notice will commence on 21 January 2025 for a period of up to 5 nights, however the works are anticipated to be completed within 1 night between the hours of 11:00pm and 3:00am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route including and residents.

The prohibition referred to above will not apply: (i) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police; (ii) to any vehicle being used in connection with the works; (iv) to any person carrying out the works.
