Guildford Borough Council : Guildford Castle Opens For The Summer

We are pleased to be re-opening Guildford Castle in time for the summer holidays. It provides an excellent opportunity to discover the history of our Norman Castle. Climb to the top of the Great Tower and you can experience stunning views of historic Guildford and beyond.

The Castle will re-open to visitors on Wednesday 27 July until the end of October. Opening hours will be Wednesday to Saturday from 12noon to 4.30pm (last admission 4pm).

Entry fees for visiting the Castle are:

· Under 5’s : Free

· Children: £2.20

· Adults: £3.70

· Family Tickets (two adults and two children): £11.00

New for this year, payment can now be made by Apple and Google Pay, as well as card and cash.

Cllr John Redpath, Lead Councillor for Economy said:

“I’m delighted that our iconic Castle will be reopening at the end of the month. Not only will visitors be able see a 360 degree view across the borough, they will also be able to take in the vibrant and colourful floral displays in our Castle Gardens and enjoy a picnic or ice cream!”

Visitors can also discover more about the history of Guildford and the surrounding area by visiting our Museum. A short walk away from the Castle, on Quarry Street, the Museum has the same opening hours as the Castle.
