Oxenden Road, Tongham – Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Notice
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14 (2) OF The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham as extends from its junction with (X119) Phillips Close to its junction with (D80) Elm Lane. Alternative Route – Oxenden Road; A323 Aldershot Road; Manor Road; and Oxenden Road or this same route in reverse.
This Notice is required to allow footway patching and/or footway maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. The Notice will commence on 09 May 2022 for a period of up to 5 days, however the works are anticipated to be completed within 3 days between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.
