Remembrance Day Parade and Service 2023
This years Remembrance Day Parade and Service took place on Sunday, 12 November 2022 in cloudy weather.
The parade from the Ash Centre to the Ash War Memorial was led by a lone piper, Chris Harris and the Union Flag was carried by the girl guides who were followed by the Deputy Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Cllr Carla Morson, the Parish Clerk, Dennis Wheeler, other Parish Councillors, representatives from the local uniformed organisations, members of the Surrey & Hampshire Area Borders Quaker Group and members of the University of the 3rd Age (U3A).
Tim Edwards marshalled the Parade and the Service was conducted by Father Keith Bristow, other members of the local clergy with the music being provided by Cove Brass Band.
Following the service, the parade returned to the Ash Centre where the salute was taken by the Deputy Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Cllr Carla Morson as the various contingents marched past.
Before final dispersal, Cllr Carla Morson thanked all the individuals, groups and organizations that had contributed towards and attended the event.
Tea and coffee were then served in the Ash Centre by members of Churches Together.
