Surrey County Council Public Footpath 350 : Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order

On 31 August 2023 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along Footpath No. 350 (Ash) from its junction with Byway Open to all Traffic (BOAT) 518 (Grid ref. 489392 149710) in a north westerly direction for 92 metres.

The Order is necessary to ensure the safety of the public during works adjacent to the footpath. It will be in operation from 4 September until 9 October 2023 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the south eastern end of the closure will be to proceed in a south westerly direction along BOAT 518 for 170m. Turn right onto the indicated path and proceed in a northerly direction for 31m. Turn right onto the indicated path and proceed in an easterly direction for 85m. Turn left onto the indicated path and proceed in a north westerly direction for 69m. Turn right onto the indicated path and proceed in a north easterly direction for 62m to the north western end of the closure. The alternative route from the north western end of the closure will be the reverse of the one described above.

The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 350 (Ash) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023’ will be made by Surrey County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
