Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14 (2) OF The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person on foot or by any other means enter or proceed in that length of Heathvale Bridge Road (D898) Ash Vale as extends from its junction with (X321) Pine Close to its junction with (D898) Hutton Road. Alternative Route: Hutton Road, Prospect Road, Wharf Road, (B3411) Vale Road, and Heathvale Bridge Road, or this route in reverse. This Notice is required to allow resurfacing bridge works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. The Notice will commence on 30 September 2024, for a period of up to 5 days, however, the works are anticipated to be completed within 2 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the diversion route. No sole means of pedestrian access to any premises will be affected. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. The prohibition referred to above will not apply: (i) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police; (ii) to any vehicle being used in connection with the works; (iv) to any person carrying out the works.
