Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2024
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14 (2) OF The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall use, cause, or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of Lakeside Road (D47) Ash Vale that is crossed under the bridge known as “Government Road” (23/10) and for a distance of 15 metres either side. Alternative Route: Lakeside Road, Government Road, Ordnance Road, High Street, Ash Road, (A323) Aldershot Road, (B3206) Shawfield Road, (B3411) Vale Road, and Lakeside Road, or this route in reverse. This Notice is required to allow replacement bridge height signs for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. The Notice will commence on 09 September 2024 for a period of up to 5 days, however, the works are anticipated to be completed within 1 night, between the hours of 9.30pm and 4am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. The prohibition referred to above will not apply: (i) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police; (ii) to any vehicle being used in connection with the works; (iv) to any person carrying out the works.
