Update on Grants for Businesses – Statement from Guildford Borough Council
Guildford Borough Council has issued the following Social Media Statement
The government has announced a range of help for businesses to be delivered by us as a Council to help support businesses affected by the Coronavirus (Covid-19). We expect around 1,750 businesses will qualify for the grants in our borough, which will probably total around £22 million.
They have continued to review the guidance for local authorities. It has become clear that we need additional information from ratepayers so we can make payments through the scheme.
Over the next week, we will write to all ratepayers who we consider are eligible for a grant. Meanwhile a generic version of the letter is available on our website. Please provide the additional information through the form on our website.
We will start to make payments during the week commencing 13 April, and aim to distribute all the grants during April. Where we can we will make payment prior to receiving the additional form information – however you must still complete the form so that post payment verification can take place.
