Supporting local people to have their say on the future of local government in Surrey

Supporting local people to have their say on the future of local government in Surrey

We’re inviting Parish Councils and local residents to join us at special online and in-person engagement events to find out about Local Government Reorganisation. Yesterday, we issued a press release with more information on our events – a copy is below. You can also find the details on our website.

For your Parish Council:

Join us for a special Local Government Reorganisation webinar for Parish Councils on Wednesday 16 July, 3pm to 4pm via Microsoft Teams.

We’ll explain what Local Government Reorganisation is, outline the different options being considered, and show you how to get involved. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about what these changes could mean for you and your wider organisation.

Right now, the Government is running a consultation on the future of local government in Surrey. The consultation is open until Tuesday 5 August. Two options are being considered – reorganising Surrey into either three or two unitary authorities.

This is the only opportunity Parish Councils, residents, community groups, businesses and stakeholders will get to share their views with the Government. We’ll walk you through how to do just that.
