Remembrance Sunday 2024

Remembrance Sunday 2024

This year’s Remembrance Day Parade and Service took place on Sunday, 10 November 2024.

The parade from the Ash Centre to the Ash War Memorial was led by a lone piper, Chris Harris. The Union Flag was carried by the Ash Manor Combined Cadet Force, followed by the Ash Parish Council Chairman of AFA, Cllr Phillip Bellamy, the Parish Clerk, Alison Watmore, other Parish Councillors, representatives from local uniformed organisations, and members of the Surrey & Hampshire Area Borders Quaker Group.

Tim Edwards marshalled the parade, and the service was conducted by Father Keith Bristow, along with other members of the local clergy. Music was provided by the Cove Brass Band.

Following the service, the parade returned to the Ash Centre, where the salute was taken by the Ash Parish Council Chairman of AFA, Cllr Phillip Bellamy, as the various contingents marched past.

Before final dispersal, Cllr John Tonks thanked all the individuals, groups, and organisations that contributed to and attended the event.

Tea and coffee were then served in the Ash Centre by members of Churches Together.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, including all the groups, organisations, and individuals. A special thank you goes to Ash & Ash Vale Community Street Team for their unwavering support and dedication year after year.
