Last chance to nominate local heroes for the Mayor of Guildford’s Service to the Community Awards
The Mayor of Guildford is inviting residents to nominate individuals and organisations for The Mayor’s Award for Service to the Community 2027.
The awards recognise people and groups who go above and beyond to support others, strengthen communities and make a lasting difference to the lives of residents across Guildford borough.
This year’s awards will be particularly special, marking the final time the awards are presented in their current format. As part of local government reorganisation, Guildford Borough Council will cease to exist from 1 April 2027.
Cllr Jane Tyson, The Mayor of Guildford, said:
“Every day, individuals and community groups across our borough make an incredible difference through their kindness, dedication and willingness to help others. These awards are an opportunity to shine a light on their achievements and thank them for everything they do.”
“This year is particularly significant as it will be the last time these awards are presented on behalf of Guildford Borough Council. That makes it even more important that we celebrate the people and organisations whose hard work helps make Guildford such a vibrant, supportive and connected community. If you know someone who deserves recognition, I encourage you to nominate them.”
Residents can nominate an individual or organisation that has shown outstanding commitment to their community, improved the lives of others or helped bring people together. Each nomination must be supported by at least two letters of support.
Nominations close at 5pm on Tuesday 1 December 2026.
