Title of update:Up Nately – Full closure of towpath, public footpath and bridge

Area(s) affected:Slades Bridge, where Heather Lane crosses the Basingstoke Canal at Up Nately
Summary of update:  A large tree has fallen from a neighbouring property onto Slade’s Bridge, blocking the lane (which is a public right of way) and damaging the bridge’s parapets.  
Effect on powered boats:None – not applicable to this section of the canal
Effect on towpath users:The towpath and footpath are closed for safety reasons, and will remain so until further notice. There is no diversion in place.
Effect on unpowered boats e.g. canoes/kayaks/paddleboards:None – not applicable to this section of the canal
