Save the date! Be part of a Greener Guildford
Join us on Sunday, 9 June 2024, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm for the first-ever Guildford Green Day, an initiative funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It’s a day to celebrate, learn and be part of a Greener Guildford. Lead Councillor for Environmental Services, Cllr George Potter said: “I’m delighted that we’re supporting the national Big Green Week in Guildford. It’s so important that we all do our bit to raise awareness of climate change issues and environmental concerns. Visitors to this free family day will have a chance to learn more about making Guildford greener. Find out about climate change initiatives, waste and recycling and try a variety of vegan food. Guildford Green Day aims to help visitors understand how their contribution will make Guildford a more sustainable place.” Lead Councillor for Commercial Services, Cllr Catherine Houston adds: “Guildford Borough Council is coordinating this free, fun and informative event. Dozens of local providers, traders and community organisations will be taking part. This great event will combine environmental, education and awareness activities. We would love as many people as possible to come along and get involved with the free activities on offer”.
