None None Towpath closed under Government Road Bridge (1 day – 9 May) local diversion
Effect on Unpowered Boats(e.g canoes/kayaks/paddleboards:
Many pounds between the locks still have very low water levels – please avoid using low water level sections if possible. Navigation reopened – please be aware contractor’s vessels may still be operating. Please obey all contractor’s instructions. The downstream portage point is the hard edging downstream of Government Road – no access under the bridge on 9 May
Full Update:
After a very busy works season stop planks were finally removed from Ash Aqueduct on 19 April. The BCA are now moving water downstream to gradually refill the Deepcut locks now the water supply from upstream is restored. Deepcut Lock will be out of service until water levels within the flight and in the Mytchett Pound are stable – we are expecting to be able to reopen Deepcut Locks on Friday 2 May. Ash Wharf Bridge – Ash Lock section of the Mytchett Pound however remains closed to powered craft (reopened to unpowered craft). This is due to continuing works at the aqueduct and for the repair of scour caused to Ash Embankment during the long closure.
