Recognise accessibility champions with The Mayor’s Awards for Access – nominations open!

Nominations for The Mayor’s Award for Access are now open.

The Guildford Access Group is in search of this year’s nominees for The Mayor’s Award for Access. The award recognises people across the borough who make positive contributions to the lives of disabled people.

The Mayor, Councillor Sallie Barker MBE, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, saying:

“These awards highlight the impact local initiatives can have on the lives of residents living with a disability. I commend the great work being done throughout the borough to make our communities more accessible for everyone.

“So, I’m asking you all to nominate an individual or group who are working hard to make things more accessible and inclusive. Your nomination could help highlight those who are making a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities.

“Together, let’s keep making our community a fairer and more accessible place for everyone who lives here.

” Award categories are:

Services to the Community
Access Through the Arts
Access Through Sports
Customer Services Awards
Accessible Premises for public use (bronze, silver and gold)

Make a nomination before Friday 7 June 2024.
