Remembrance Day Parade and Service 2022

This years Remembrance Day Parade and Service took place on Sunday, 13 November 2022 in dry sunny weather.

The parade from the Ash Centre to the Ash War Memorial was led by a lone piper, Chris Harris and the Union Flag was carried by the Scouts who were followed by the Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Cllr Nigel Manning, the Parish Clerk, Dennis Wheeler, the MP, Michael Gove, other Parish Councillors, representatives from the local uniformed organisations, Julia Longrigg from Surrey & Hampshire Area Borders Quaker Group and members of the University of the 3rd Age (U3A).

Tim Edwards marshalled the Parade and the Service was conducted by Father Keith Bristow, other members of the local clergy with the music being provided by Cove Brass Band.

Following the service, the parade returned to the Ash Centre where the salute was taken by the Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Cllr Nigel Manning as the various contingents marched past.

Before final dispersal, Cllr Nigel Manning thanked all the individuals, groups and organizations that had contributed towards and attended the event.

Tea and coffee were then served in the Ash Centre by members of Churches Together.
