Air Ambulance Charity KSS – help us save more lives
Over the past few years, the Council have very kindly supported Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) with a financial contribution towards our lifesaving service. Last year, KSS were called out to over 3,300 missions – the Council’s grant (or donation) made this possible. It has also enabled us to take strides forward in training and educating the public with potentially lifesaving skills.
Over the past 2 years our ‘Restart A Heart Day with KSS’ initiative has helped teach CPR and the use of a defibrillator to nearly 100,000 people – from children in school through to community groups in halls and individuals or families at home. These free 30-minute online training sessions, delivered by our expert doctors and paramedics, are available to everyone and viewed at any time. Why this is so important – because every day 25 people across the South East experience a cardiac arrest and sadly only one in ten currently survive. Most of these happen at home. Giving CPR and using a defibrillator in those first crucial minutes could help more than double a loved one’s chance of survival.
Together we will save more lives.
