Basingstoke Canal Navigation Update
Good news, with all the rainfall the canal now has plenty of water and we are able to re-open both Ash Lock and the Deepcut and Brookwood lock flights.
The tree which was completely blocking the towpath at chainage marker 49.5km (between Greywell tunnel and Odiham Castle) has been removed.
Please note that someone attempted to steal the outboard engine off the back of a boat moored at Crookham Wharf week of 31 st October during the early evening. They thankfully didn’t manage to get it, but did cause some damage in the process. Please keep your eyes and ears open and check your boats and report anything suspicious directly to the police.
The water point at Colt Hill is not working so it is not currently available for use. We are investigating to find out what has happened and what can be done and hope to get this rectified soon.
