Guildford Flood Alleviation Scheme

You are invited to our next round of public information events for Guildford Flood Alleviation Scheme.  

The Environment Agency, Guildford Borough Council and Surrey County Council are working together to develop a scheme to reduce flood risk to homes, businesses, and infrastructure in Guildford town centre. The scheme will also improve the natural environment and build better connections between Guildford town centre and the River Wey.  

We have been working on developing the scheme and are pleased to present scheme plans and visuals, drawing on feedback collected from the public at previous events. Members of the project team will be on hand to help explain maps and drawings and answer any questions you may have.  

To ensure as many attendees as possible, we are running several events. Please see details below: 

  • Saturday 17 January 2026 at the Yvonne Arnauld Theatre from 12pm to 5pm 
  • Thursday 22 January 2026 at Guildford Borough Council offices from 3pm to 6pm 

If you cannot attend in person, there is an option to join us online on Tuesday 20 January 2026 from 7pm to 8pm.   We will be adding details of this event and how to register on our website at https://engageenvironmentagency.uk.engagementhq.com/guildford-flood-alleviation-scheme 

If you are unable to attend the event, you will be able to view the event material on our website and provide feedback following the event. The online feedback form will be open until Saturday 28 February 2026. If you would like to request a hard copy feedback form, please email us to request this.
