| 3-2-1 and action! The Great British Spring Clean launches today with an incredible 400,000 bags already pledged to our Big Bag Counter – it isn’t too late to join in with the fun! People across the country, from families, to community groups to schools, councils, faith groups and town and parish council members are preparing for their litter-picking events and we can’t wait to hear about them! When you sign up below, you can share any details you need local residents to know about how you can support them with litter-picking and we will put it on our website. Congratulations to our official Outstanding Organiser! We have announced our award winners for last year’s campaign. Simon Harris at Buckinghamshire Council has won our GBSC Outstanding Organiser Award for 2024 – our dedicated award for local authorities and town or parish councils – congratulations! Last year Simon and his team supported 68 events during the Great British Spring Clean across Southern Buckinghamshire. This included delivering 429 litter-pickers, 2,675 bags, 95 hi-vis vests, 95 pairs of gloves and 325 bag hoops! He supported 926 volunteers who collected 1,723 bags of litter – approximately 8.6 tonnes! If you know a deserving council member who is going above and beyond in 2025, nominate them below.
