Local Government Reorganisation: Surrey

Local Government Reorganisation: Surrey

OFFICIAL

I am writing to make you aware of the consultation on proposals for local government reorganisation in Surrey. In February 2025, Government invited all councils in Surrey to develop proposals for unitary local government, following the English Devolution White Paper, which set out the Government’s vision for simpler local government structures.

In considering who may wish to respond to the consultation, the councils in Surrey identified a number of stakeholders including, residents’ associations, town and parish councils, voluntary and community sector organisations, local businesses, local and national associations, and bodies.

The councils in Surrey identified the organisation or association you represent as one that may wish to respond to the consultation. We are therefore emailing you to make you aware of the consultation, Proposals for local government reorganisation in Surrey – GOV.UK. The consultation is open until 5 August.
