Remembrance Sunday 2025
This year’s Remembrance Day Parade and Service took place on Sunday, 9 November 2025.
The parade, which began at the Ash Centre and proceeded to the Ash War Memorial, was led by a lone piper, Chris Harris. The Union Flag was proudly carried by the 1st Ash Vale Scouts, followed by Ash Parish Council Vice-Chair, Cllr Carla Morson, the Parish Clerk, Alison Watmore, fellow Parish Councillors, representatives from local uniformed organisations, and members of the Surrey & Hampshire Area. We were delighted to welcome SSG Tony Raynor and his Outreach Team, who joined our parade for the first time.
Participants included:
- Honoured veterans
- Army Outreach Team
- Surrey Police, for their presence and support
- School representatives, including the Head Boy and Head Girl of Ash Manor
- Ash Manor Combined Cadet Force
- St John Ambulance
- Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts
- Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides
- U3A
- Farnborough Quakers Meeting
The parade was expertly marshalled by Tim Edwards, and the service was conducted jointly by the churches within Ash Parish, including:
- Reverend Neil Lambert, St Mary’s Church, Ash Vale
- Reverend Claire Holt & Reverend Carol Monk, St Peter’s Church, Ash
- Father Robin Farrow, Holy Angels Church, Ash
Music for the service was provided by the Cove Brass Band.
Following the service, the parade returned to the Ash Centre, where the salute was taken by Cllr Carla Morson as the various contingents marched past. Before dispersal, Cllr Morson expressed heartfelt thanks to all individuals, groups, and organisations who contributed to and attended the event.
Tea and coffee were kindly served in the Ash Centre by members of Churches Together.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who attended, and to all groups, organisations, and individuals for their support. A special thank you goes to the Ash & Ash Vale Community Street Team and our event volunteer for their continued support year after year.
