The Basingstoke Canal Society Celebrates Donation From Ash Parish Council

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Ash Parish Council’s events and helped us contribute to The Basingstoke Canal Society last year. We’re proud to support such a great cause!

Here is what The Basingstoke Canal Society had to say on their Facebook post:

“Huge thanks to Ash Parish Council who selected the BCS as their charity of the year in 2025 and on Thursday 2nd April they presented a cheque to the BCS onboard our new electric boat “Kitty II”.”

Ash Parish Council, Councillor Johns Tonks added:

“The donation was given for the excellent work the BCS does in maintaining the Basingstoke Canal for everyone to enjoy. The funds were raised throughout the year at community events where the Council applies a small fee to any stallholder operating as a business. Other funds were raised from tombola’s and raffles at events.
Many thanks to the local community for coming together to enjoy these events, which not only bring people together but also enable the Council to raise money and celebrate the outstanding work of our local charities, such as the Basingstoke Canal Society, who help ensure that the canal running through our village remains a pleasant place for everyone.”
