Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of the northbound slip road classified as the “A331”.  Alternative Route: (A323) Aldershot Road, (A331) Blackwater Valley Road, (A31) Runfold Diversion, and (A331) Blackwater Valley Road. This Order is required to facilitate installation of access gates to the ponds for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council.  These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible, between the hours of 9am and 5pm within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 07 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain vehicular access through the closure, and all vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.
