Weather Warning: Risk of Thunderstorms
Unfortunately, the Met Office have reported that there are likely to be a number of weather alerts out across the weekend including a risk of thunderstorms. The Environment Agency report that there is potential for flood alerts as a result of heavy storms.

Please pass this information to anyone involved in activities which may be impacted by the weather so that they can implement any contingencies.

” Today & Tomorrow (Daytime): Fine and dry.
” Tomorrow Evening into Overnight: Thunderstorms and heavy rain expected to move in from the south. Risk of torrential downpours and surface water flooding.
o A Yellow Thunderstorm Warning will be issued, with the potential to escalate to Amber depending on developments.
” Met Office Stress that the Thunderstorm warning will likely cover a large portion of England due to the way thunderstorms are.Sunday: Further showers, potentially thundery.
” Rainfall Extremes: Some areas could see 20-30mm in under an hour, and up to 60-90mm in less than 3 hours in the worst-case scenario.
” Given current dry ground conditions, this significantly increases the risk of surface water flooding.
” Temperatures: Expected to rise through next week.
” Severe Wildfire Risk: High today and tomorrow, likely to reduce once rainfall arrives.
