Council seeks resident feedback on plans and priorities

Guildford Borough Council is inviting residents to help shape the future of Guildford borough by sharing their views for its annual Delivery Plan.

An online survey has been launched to gather public feedback on their Delivery Plan which will outline the most significant actions and activities the council will undertake based on the key priorities in their new Corporate Strategy.

The Corporate Strategy is the council’s long-term vision for creating opportunities for all in Guildford borough. It serves as the foundation for decision-making, influencing budget allocations and service delivery. The strategy is built around five key priorities:

  1. A More Sustainable Borough
  2. A More Prosperous Borough
  3. A More Inclusive Borough
  4. Decent and Affordable Homes
  5. A Resilient and Well-Managed Council

The council has recently consulted with local businesses, public sector partners, and educational institutions on their Delivery Plan, and is now encouraging all residents to have their say on the actionable things that should be included in the plan.

Councillor Julia McShane, Leader of Guildford Borough Council, emphasised the importance of public participation in shaping the Delivery Plan:

“As a council we’re working hard to improve the lives of everyone who calls Guildford home.

“It’s only by listening and understanding the needs of our communities that we can shape the future of our borough. We want to make it a greener, fairer, thriving place to live, work and do business.

“Our key priorities provide the framework for achieving our vision, but for this to be successful it’s important our residents have their say.”

The Delivery Plan survey is open until the 14 March, and residents are urged to take part to ensure their views are heard.
