Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2026

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXERCISE OF ITS POWERS UNDER SECTION 14(2) OF The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers hereby gives notice that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in that length of D4045 Lysons Avenue/Lynchford Road, Ash Vale which extends from its junction with B3166 Lysons Avenue north-westwards and then westwards to the boundary between the Borough of Surrey Heath and Hampshire County Council. Alternative Route – Lysons Avenue (B3166), Lynchford Road (B3166), North Camp Station Roundabout and Lynchford Road (D4045).

This Notice is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out tree works. The Notice will commence on 6 July 2026, for a period of up to 5 days however, the works are anticipated to be completed within 1 day.  Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times under direction of a banksman. Due to nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain access for emergency service vehicles and residents/business and will be required to follow diversion route.

The prohibition referred to above will not apply: (i) in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; (ii) in respect of anything done in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the highway by or on behalf of the Police; (ii) to any vehicle being used in connection with the works; (iv) to any person carrying out the works.
